The Broken Shore

The Broken Shore was once a portion of the city of Suramar, and the location of the Temple of Elune. During the Sundering, it sank to into the Great Sea. The Guardian Aegwynn also defeated the Avatar of Sargeras here, and locked him away along with countless demons. It is rumored she also hid two precious artifacts here. During the Second War, Gul'dan raised it from the bottom of the sea to open the Tomb of Sargeras. During the Third War, Illidan Stormrage came here for the Eye of Sargeras, seeking power to defeat the Lich King. He collapsed part of the temple on Maiev and her troops in an effort to get away. Maiev was able to blink away, but many of here troops died.

Now the Broken Shores serves as the forefront for the Legion's (hopefully last) attempt at invading Azeroth. Gul'dan has opened the Tomb of Sargeras under the instruction of Kil'Jaedan, and is ushering countless demons into Azeroth. Players will enter, as a pre-launch event to transition the game into Legion.

Val'Sharah

Val'Sharah is an ancient forest, home of Cenarius. The first druids molded Val'Sharah to be a perfect image of the Emerald Dream on Azeroth. This magical forest, rich with lore, is where Cenarius first taught Malfurion Stormrage the art of druidism. In this zone, Xavius and his evil satyrs will be trying to corrupt the forest and spread the Emerald Nightmare. Expect much lore in this zone, and perhaps a run in with Cenarius?

Dungeons And Raids

Black Rook Hold (Lvl 110+) (5-player)

Darkheart Thicket (Lvl 110) (5-player)

The Emerald Nightmare (Lvl 110+) (10-30 player)

Stormheim

Years ago, Vrykul migrated here from Northrend in search of their holy land. This zone is said to be the setting of two warring Titans. Which two specific Titans have been warring has not been revealed, but perhaps we might see Tyr? This zone includes the Halls of Valor and Helheim, the holy places where Vrykul travel when they die. This area will most likely also be rich with lore. It was said in a Legion behind the scenes article that Sylvanas and Genn Greymane will also have stories here.

Dungeons and Raids

Halls of Valor (100-110) (5-player)

Maw of Souls (110) (5-player)

Azsuna

This beautiful zone houses the ruins of an ancient Night Elf civilization before the Sundering. It is said that Night Elf ghosts roam here, as well as remenants the Blue Dragonflight. A Pillar of Creation is contested here. This land was actually not devastated by the Sundering, but instead by Queen Ashzara years before, and as such, Naga roam freely around this zone.

Highmountain

This zone was named after Huln Highmountain for his bravery during the War of the Ancients. There are two factions who have lived here for a long time: The Highmountain Tauren and the Drogbar. The Highmountain Tauren and Drogbar used to live in peace until the Legion invaded. Perhaps corrupted by the Legion's dark forces, Dargrul the Underking, ruler of the Drogbar, stole a sacred artifact from the Tauren - The Hammer of Khaz'goroth. Dargrul and his kin now stay in the old lair of the black aspect Neltharion. We will also see Brann Bronzebeard and Hemet Nesingway in this zone.

Dungeons and Raids

Neltharion's Lair (100-110)

Thal'Dranath

There is not much information on this zone other than that Blizzard plans to implement it in future content patches. Spectulation: Thal'Dranath is the island Gul'dan raised in Warcraft II and will house the Tomb of Sargeras. Quote from Wowpedia "The Stormreaver clan showed an unusual interest in exploring the isles. The forces of the Stormreaver clan and theTwilight's Hammer clan moved through the isles en masse towards the end of the Second War. It was later discovered that the clans were fortifying a new island upon which Gul'dan had newly raised in order for him to access the Tomb of Sargeras." This island could in fact be Thal'Dranath.

Suramar

This max level zone is full of mystery and intrigue. 12,000 years ago, Highborne used the Pillars of Creation to seal a wound in the earth and placed the Temple of Elune on top of it. At the center of the Broken Isles, this ancient Night Elf civilization was once the home the Highborne. When the Sundering sank the majority of Suramar, the elves were able to save Suramar City by creating a magic shield using the power of their Nightwell. For 10,000 years, they believed the rest of the world had been destroyed. With the shield now lifted, the leader of the now Nightborne elves, Grand Magistrix Elisandre, is on the cusp of sealing an alliance with the Legion to aid the invasion. According to Alpha, Suramar City is still under development.
